City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> January 23, 2013 <br /> Lengthy discussion was had regarding implications of Governor Dayton's proposed budget, how <br /> the City could protect it self for the potential for increased bids and contractor adjustments, do to <br /> possible changes in sales tax rates. Statz suggested making a change in in the bid documents to <br /> reflect the possible sales tax rate adjustments. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher seconded by Council Member Paar to adopt <br /> Res. #13 -008 — Approving Plans and Specifications & Callins for Bids on 2013 Street <br /> Improvement Project. Council Member King Opposed. Motion carried <br /> IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> Administrator Larson reported that the Six Cities Collaborative Group was in the midst of a <br /> study involving all cities' utilities in an attempt to ascertain whether it is feasible to move <br /> forward with a future joint utility operations. It has been determined that without further study <br /> and funding this option would be unobtainable. Administrator Larson stated that it was the <br /> group's consensus to discuss with legislators the possibility of securing funding. Discussion <br /> ensued regarding other entities that have provided joint water utilities such as St. Paul Water, <br /> West St. Paul, Lauderdale, etc.; however, it has only been completed for water services not both <br /> sewer and water. Complicating factors include water treatment facilities in neighboring <br /> communities, lake levels, need for a joint powers agreement to provide services. Positives <br /> include previous collaborative projects (salt brine, Fire District, Police, etc.) and working with <br /> the League of Minnesota Cities. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that there would be a Local Government Officials meeting on <br /> January 30, 2013 if any member was interested to contact him. <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that there would be a Fire Steering meeting on the following day at <br /> station 2 and a Police Commission meeting February 11 th. Mayor Wilharber also reminded <br /> Council Members that there would be a meeting with Anoka County Highway Department on <br /> January 29, 2013 regarding the Centerville Road /CSAH21 improvements. <br /> X. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, .seconded by Council Member Love to adjourn the <br /> regularly scheduled Council Meeting of January 23, 2013 at 7:07 p.m. All in favor.
