Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> March 6, 2013 <br /> VI. UPDATES <br /> 1. Council Updates - Council Liaison King <br /> Council Member King stated that the Council had discussed the Goals & Objectives <br /> and they felt that they were too lengthy and should be scaled back. An additional <br /> joint meeting would be scheduled in the near future. The Committee desired to <br /> request assistance from the Council in obtaining parking at Acorn Creek Park. <br /> Council Member King also stated that Council approved the "Shake Your <br /> Shamrock" event subject to modification of the starting line and police and fire <br /> recommendations. <br /> 2. Skate Party /Hayride — February 9, 2013 <br /> The Committee felt that the event was very successful and well attended by both the <br /> public and volunteers. The Committee desired to forward "Thank You" letters to the <br /> school and volunteers. Committee Member Grahek will provide names and <br /> addresses to staff for this task. <br /> 3. Kiosk Inserts — K. Amundsen <br /> Ongoing project. <br /> 4. Purchase Lockbox for Restrooms @ Laurie LaMotte Park — P. Palzer <br /> This item will be completed by the next meeting. <br /> 5. "Shake Your Shamrock" 5K & 8K Walk/Run & Kids Run Sponsored by <br /> Kelly's Korner <br /> The date of the event is Saturday, March 16, 2013. The Start/Finish locations have <br /> been revised, they will be using a PA system, permit for school parking has been <br /> received, Police and Fire Department approval has been received. The City is <br /> waiting for the Certificate of Insurance and Anoka Country Park Permit. <br /> 6. Centennial Youth Football Association <br /> The Association is not interested in utilizing LaMotte Park, due to size. <br /> 7. Request forwarded to Anoka County for Permission to Post Information @ <br /> Rice Creek <br /> Permission has been granted from Mr. Jeff Perry, Operations Manager, Anoka <br /> Country P & R Department for 2013. <br /> 8. Maintenance of Monument Signs <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br />
