Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> March 6, 2013 <br /> IV. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> 1. Consideration of the February 6, 2013 Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> meeting minutes. <br /> Requests were made to make the following revisions, under Appearances, Item #2 change <br /> the word "chords" to "cable ", under Consideration of Minutes, note that Vice Chairperson <br /> Grahek abstained, under Committee Business, Item #1 replace "alter" with "tabled to the <br /> March meeting ", Item #3 add P & R between " -" and "5K" and under Updates, Item #7 add <br /> "P & R Topics" between "Forwarding & Lisa ". <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Haiden, to approve the February 6, 2013 meeting minutes as amended. All in Favor. <br /> Motion carried unanimously. <br /> V. COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> 1. Grant — Invasive Aquatic Plant Management Permit & Grant Application <br /> Mr. Thomas Kohl (Permit & Fees Needed Prior to Grant Application <br /> Submission). <br /> This item was tabled until Mr. Kohl's appearance. <br /> 2. Invasive Blitz — Volunteer Training Workshops — U of M Extension <br /> Committee Member Amundsen stated that the workshop would provide attendees with <br /> training on identification, removal /treatment and follow -up management and monitoring of <br /> invasive species such as buckthorn, garlic mustard and wild parsnip. Committee Member <br /> Amundsen suggested that a member of the Committee attend to assist in weeding projects <br /> within the parks and providing assistance to the Public Works Department. Committee <br /> Member Amundsen volunteered to attend on behalf of the Committee. <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Seeley, seconded by Committee Member <br /> Haiden, to recommend the attendance of a Committee Member of the May 4, 2013 <br /> East Bethel session. Committee Member Amundsen abstained. Motion carried. <br /> 3. Water Supply Sustainability in the North Metro Meeting — League of Women <br /> Voters <br /> No Committee Member was available to attend. <br /> 4. Bald Eagle Water Ski Club — City Use of Lakeshore @ Trailside Park <br /> Until such time as an application for use has been submitted or Mr. Kohl's appearance at the <br /> next meeting this item will be tabled. <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br />
