<br />USE, PERMITTED. A use that is permitted in the district under which it is listed. <br /> <br />VARIANCE. The waiving by Board action of the literal provisions of the zoning chapter <br />in instances where their strict enforcement would cause undue hardship because of circumstances <br />unique to the individual property under consideration. <br /> <br />VEHICLE. Any vehicle which is self-propelled or designed to be pushed or pulled and <br />shall include but not be limited to automobiles, busses, motorbikes, motorcycles, motor scooters, <br />trucks, tractors, go-carts, golf carts, campers, trailers, boats, planes and gliders. <br /> <br />VEHICLE, ABANDONED. Any vehicle as defined in this section, which does not have <br />lawfully affixed or attached thereto an unexpired state registration or license plate or plates, or <br />the condition of which is wrecked, dismantled, partially dismantled, inoperative, abandoned or <br />discarded. <br /> <br />WATER-ORIENTED ACCESSORY STRUCTURE OR FACILITY. A small above- <br />ground building or other improvement except stairways, fences, docks and retaining walls which, <br />because of the relationship of its use to a surface water feature, reasonably needs to be located <br />closer to public waters than the normal structure setback. Examples of these structures and <br />facilities include boathouses, gazebos, screen houses, fish houses, pump houses and detached <br />decks. <br /> <br />WETLAND. Lands transitional between terrestrial and aquatic systems where the water <br />table is usually at or near the surface or the land or is covered by shallow water. For purposes of <br />this definition, WETLANDS must have the following 3 characteristics: <br /> <br />(1) Predominance of hydric soils; <br />(2) Are inundated or saturated by surface or groundwater at a frequency and <br />duration sufficient to support a prevalence ofhydrophytic vegetation typically adapted for life in <br />saturated soil conditions; and <br /> <br />(3) Under normal circumstances support a prevalence of that vegetation. <br /> <br />YARD. A required open space on a lot which is unoccupied and unobstructed from the <br />ground upward, except as otherwise provided for herein. The measurement of a YARD shall be <br />construed as the minimum horizontal distance between the lot line and the building line. <br /> <br />YARD, FRONT. A yard extending across the full width of the front lot between side lot <br />lines and extending from the abutting street right-of-way line to a depth required in the yard <br />regulations of the district in which the lot is located. On a comer lot the street address or <br />narrowest street dimension of the street shall be the FRONT YARD. The other street frontage <br />will be considered a FRONT YARD for principal structure setbacks and a side yard for purposes <br />of calculating setbacks for accessory structures. <br />
