Several city residents were
present to speak. All seemed to support allowing a small number of chickens in residential areas.
Consensus of the Commission was to recommend a change in the city Code to allow up to four
chickens in residential areas. Administrator Larson suggested that the Commission request input
from the Council before crafting an ordinance. Commissioners felt that a few guidelines should be
sent along with the recommendation so that Council understands how the regulations would be
applied.

Motion by Commissioner Koski, seconded by Commissioner Flint to request that the
City Council give feedback on the proposal to allow chickens to be kept in residential
neighborhoods. All in favor except Wood voted no. Motion carried.
