Planning & Zoning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />February 7, 2006 <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Hanzal, seconded by Commissioner Love, to recommend <br />that the Council look at placing a one-year moratorium over the entire <br />redevelopment area. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson gave an overview of the proposal given to the library for <br />locating the new resource library in Centerville. <br /> <br />2. Accessory Structures – PODS, Containers, Trailers, Semi/Dump Trucks & Tents <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated there are a few nuisance type issues Staff could <br />clean up with a few changes to the Ordinances. <br /> <br />Staff and the Commission discussed some of the situations with semis parked in <br />driveways, dump trucks and box trailers as well as a tent type shed. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson read language from another city’s ordinance that could <br />regulate the tent type sheds. <br /> <br />Chair Hanson suggested regulating PODS in the Ordinance. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson suggested adding language to the Ordinance to state that <br />accessory structures cannot be located in the front yard. <br /> <br />The Commission agreed that all accessory structures should have a permit required and <br />the fee should be nominal. The permit is to allow Staff to see where the structure is <br />going to be located. <br /> <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> <br />1. Ordinance Codification <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that final changes will be made and a draft provided <br />for review. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson provided an overview of the proposed site plan for the <br />backage road being proposed by the City. <br /> <br />VII.
