Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 4, 2006 <br />Chair Hanson said he would be okay with going north to the point recommended by Staff <br />but not any further as it is more residential and would cause issues with residents. <br />City Administrator Larson asked who is originating the request and who would pay the <br />costs associated. <br />The Commission agreed that the City should correct the situation and pay the costs to do <br />so. <br />Motion by Commissioner Klennert Hunt, seconded by Commissioner Love to set a <br />public hearing for consideration of a Comprehensive Plan amendment and rezone <br />to I-1 from B-1. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br />Mr. Wilharber indicated that the present public works site originally was Rehbein and <br />Rehbein built Mr. Olson’s building and he thinks there is a Comprehensive Plan and <br />zoning map issue and the zoning map is correct. He then noted the same thing happened <br />with the Church but that whole strip was considered to be for a light industrial type <br />project. <br />3. Comments on AUAR Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />Commissioner Klennert Hunt indicated that the new church has caused a lot of traffic <br />issues and the huge development across the street will cause even more issues. <br />Chair Hanson said that Lino Lakes is pushing this because they have a plan they are <br />considering for the area. <br />Commissioner Klennert Hunt indicated she is opposed to growth before the traffic issues <br />with existing roads is handled but not to growth itself. <br />City Administrator Larson indicated the City can make comments but has no control over <br />the situation. He then suggested reasonable comments concerning the infrastructure <br />issues may be received better. <br />Council Liaison Terway indicated he is going to bring this up at the next Council meeting <br />concerning the plans for congestion related to the Church in Lino Lakes. <br />Commissioner Love indicated that he feels that flow through traffic will assist with the <br />downtown redevelopment. <br />Chair Hanson said that the roads cannot handle it as they are and the City would like <br />roads improved. <br />Motion by Commissioner Klennert Hunt, seconded by Commissioner Wright to <br />request that Council comment on the AUAR to make Lino Lakes aware that the <br />City has a concern with traffic in the area and request that the Main Street <br />Page 4 of 5 <br />
