City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 14, 2013 <br />Discussion took place regarding to what extent the City should consider future <br />development in the area and working with the neighboring community Lino Lakes. <br /> <br />Administrator Larson stated that the City would not expend additional funding beyond <br />this proposal without first securing Council’s consideration. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love, to approve <br />the submitted proposal for engineering services provided by Stantec for the <br />Centerville Road/CSAH21 Project as presented. All in favor. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />8. Consider Audit Proposal from Abdo, Eick & Meyers, LLP (Three (3) Year Term) <br /> <br />Administrator Larson requested that Council table this item allowing additional time for <br />discussion and consideration at their next meeting. Council Member King questioned <br />whether the City may desire to request proposals for these services. Administrator <br />Larson stated that the City is not required to solicit proposals if Council desires. Council <br />consensus was to Table this item until their next meeting allowing for additional <br />consideration. <br /> <br />9. Turf at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br /> <br />Council Member King, Parks & Recreation Committee Liaison, reported that the <br />Committee is very disheartened by the progress with the restoration following the <br />unauthorized use and damage. Public Works Director Palzer stated that Staff has been <br />watering the damaged areas on a regular basis. Chaiperson Pat Branch, Parks & <br />Recreation Committee, was present and stated that the repairs will be impacting the fall <br />season of football and soccer. <br /> <br />10. Servicing of Park Satellites <br /> <br />Council Member King stated that recently residents have been reporting no one is <br />servicing them and several have substandard equipment. Public Works Director Palzer <br />stated that the service provider should be servicing them on a weekly basis and that this is <br />the first complaint he has received all season. Public Works Director Palzer stated that he <br />would be in contact with the service provider ensuring that these facilities would be taken <br />care of on a regular basis in the future and report back to Council. <br /> <br />IX.ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />Administrator Larson reported that the University of Michigan desired to apply various <br />sealants to the joints that were failing in the colored concrete in the downtown area in <br />order to study their effectiveness. Administrator Larson reported that this area was <br />recently involved a Department of Transportation Study which the University of <br />Michigan was involved. <br /> <br />Page 6 of 8 <br /> <br />
