UPDATES <br /> <br /> <br />1.Council Updates – Council Member Steve King <br /> <br /> <br />2.Recap of Festival of the Lakes 8K/5K/kids run/walk events <br /> <br /> Race Coordinator Branch updated the Committee by stating that there were 168 <br />registered runners and 156 finishers; the kids run drew 64 runners and the new 5K <br />drew 84 runners/walkers. Income from sponsors and registration fees totaled <br />$4,195 with expenses to date being $1,795. Race Coordinator Branch stated that <br />all contributions from sponsors had yet to be received and several expenditures <br />were still outstanding. He felt that the expected net revenue would be between <br />$2,200 - $2,400. <br /> <br /> <br />3.Recap of Music in the Park <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Tom Lee was not present at the meeting. <br /> <br /> <br />4.Volleyball Courts – see #6 under Committee Business <br /> <br /> <br /> On-going Items: <br /> <br /> <br />1. Research Projects (Park Benches) <br /> <br />Chairperson Branch has been researching the types and costs of park benches and found <br />they range in price from $200 up to around $800 each. Discussion ensued regarding the <br />type(s) of bases that the different bench styles may require. Three (3) benches are <br />needed; however, with specific styles, a quantity price break could be obtained. <br />Continued research will be completed by both Chairperson Branch and Public Works <br />Director Palzer with a proposal being available for the September meeting. <br /> <br />VII. ACTION ITEMS REVIEW <br /> <br />Items that have been completed will be removed; some are still open and additional items <br />discussed at this meeting will be added.
