<br />County has received past SHIP grants to increase access to parks and trails and increase <br />education regarding health, wellness and outdoor recreation. Refer to Figure 16 for an <br />example of a SHIP funded project. This project, in cooperation with the Blue Cross Blue <br />Shield “Do” campaign, provided park and trail wayfinding and healthy lifestyle <br />information. <br />In addition, user demand and the SHIP program has allowed the County to create the Go <br />Anoka County website (goanokacounty.org), <br />which is a site created to provide information <br />related to parks and recreation facilities, <br />promote access to those facilities to make is <br />easier to recreate outdoors. <br /> <br />Development Concept <br />The proposed <br />development concept <br /> <br />for this trail corridor is <br />to provide an 8 to 10 <br />foot wide paved trail <br />linking regional <br />destinations in Anoka <br />County and the <br />metropolitan area. <br />These destinations <br />include downtown <br />Centerville, Rice Creek <br />Chain of Lakes Park <br />Reserve, a future City of <br />Lino Lakes recreation <br />facility and Ramsey <br />County’s Bald Eagle- <br />Otter Lakes Regional <br />Park, as well as <br />Tamarack Nature <br />Center, via a proposed <br /> <br />9 <br />regional trail on Otter <br />F7 <br />IGURE <br /> <br />
