Centerville Lions Request for Raffle Permit—Kelly's Korner Benefit for Austin Klecker, <br /> May 31, 2014 <br /> Acting Mayor Paar provided Council Members with an opportunity to remove any item that they <br /> desired additional information on. <br /> Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br /> the Consent Agenda as presented. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> 1. Anoka County Fire Protection Council Joint Powers Agreement <br /> City Attorney Glaser stated that there have been several drafts and many questions regarding the <br /> need of the agreement, additional duties of elected officials and Staff, duplication of agreements <br /> versus combining existing agreements, protection of funding for services offered, costs <br /> associated with the agreement and the ramifications of the City of Lino Lakes request to not be <br /> included in the agreement even though they are currently a member of the Centennial Fire <br /> District. Attorney Glaser stated that Council needs to agree with and feel comfortable with the <br /> Agreement prior to making a decision and he is not sure that the document addresses all <br /> concerns. Attorney Glaser and Administrator Larson both stated that the item could be tabled to <br /> the next meeting. Council questioned who was leading the passage of the agreement. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that Fire Chiefs and the new radio communication system where <br /> driving the agreement and its passage. <br /> Council stated that there was concern regarding the current position of the Centennial Fire <br /> District and the timing of the agreement along with funding, potential for loss of funding, <br /> protection of Fire District's interests and potential for cooperative endeavors in the future; <br /> however, desired to table the item at this time. <br /> 2. Downtown Concrete Intersection <br /> Administrator Larson stated that the recently completed Downtown Color Concrete Study <br /> unveiled no new information and their suggested remedy was to completely remove the existing <br /> Page 3 of 6 <br /> 53 <br />
