City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />August 27, 2014 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Twohy arrived at 6:45 p.m. Administrator Larson apologized for the error in scheduling of <br />the interview. Both Council and Mr. Twohy concurred that they desired to hold the interview at <br />the regular Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Council briefly interviewed Mr. Twohy, asked several questions and reviewed his presented <br />application for appointment. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member King to offer P & Z seat to <br />Mr. Nick Twohy and to extend the P & R vacancy to Mr. Reinhardt. All in favor. Motion <br />passed. <br /> <br />The Mayor Recalled Old Business, Item #1, Res. #14-028 – Water Service Availability for <br />Certain Properties <br /> <br />Attorney Glaser added the following paragraph to the resolution – “This Resolution still requires <br />any property to follow the provisions of City Code Chapter 51, Section 51.08(b) in the event a <br />private well on the property falls into disrepair.” <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher seconded by Council Member Paar to Adopt <br />Resolution Number 14-028 as modified by the City Attorney. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />X. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br />Administrator Larson reported that Anoka County had awarded the Centerville Road <br />Reconstruction project the day prior, however, issues remain regarding right-of-way and utilities <br />relocation. The Contractor, Arnt Construction, is eager to commence the project. <br /> <br />Council Member Love questioned resident comment regarding municipal services not being <br />provided along with the reconstruction of Centerville Road. Administrator Larson stated that <br />several residents were disappointed in the city’s decision; however, it is not economically feasible <br />at this time. <br /> <br />Concern for the need of a second representative from the city to attend an upcoming Fire Steering <br />Committee Meeting was needed due to a scheduling conflict with the appointed representative. <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that critical items could be tabled until such time as the city has full <br />representation. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber reported that he had attended the Centennial Fire District meeting on August 28, <br />2014 where equipment disbursement was determined. Mayor Wilharber also stated that several <br />members from the City of Lino Lakes were represented along with City Administrator, Mr. Jim <br />Keinath form Circle Pines. Mayor Wilharber also reported that he felt the remaining communities <br />(Centerville and Circle Pines) were well represented and the process was well organized. <br /> <br />Council Member King reported that the North Metro Cable Commission’s attorneys are <br />continuing to work with Comcast regarding the franchise transfer. <br />Page 6 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
