City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 10,2014 <br /> be taking place on Saturday at City Hall. Mayor Wilharber reported that one <br /> candidate dropped out but Mr. Fursman moved the next highest scored candidate into <br /> that spot. <br /> 2. Mayor Wilharber reported that he had recently attended a Met Council meeting <br /> regarding ground water sustainability where their final draft report was reviewed. <br /> Mayor Wilharber reported that costs were exorbitant to purchase water from St. Paul <br /> Regional Water rather than obtaining it from the Prairie du Chien aquifer. <br /> Administrator Larson stated that estimated costs per household would be <br /> approximately$230-$240 per year to operate necessary facilities and piping. <br /> 3. Administrator Larson stated that he had been recently interviewed by Channel 5 <br /> News regarding the city's colored concrete in the downtown area. <br /> 4. Engineer Mann reported that he had included his monthly report in Council's packet, <br /> stated that the contractor is installing water services in the Royal Meadows <br /> Development and off project sites. Engineer Mann also reported that the Mill and <br /> Overlay project has been delayed due to weather, however it was felt that the fall <br /> would bring days that would allow temperatures warm enough to finish the project <br /> prior to winter. <br /> 5. Mayor Wilharber requested an update on the CSAH21/Centerville Road Project from <br /> Administrator Larson or Engineer Mann. Administrator Larson stated that formal <br /> start has been delayed for a permit through RCWD. <br /> 6. Council Member King stated that the Parks & Recreation Committee discussed <br /> requesting additional funding ($10,000 to $15,000 per year) to accomplish tree <br /> trimming and park amenities that they are unable to secure through events, donations <br /> or sponsorships (drinking fountains, basketball courts, electricity, etc.). Council <br /> Member King also reported that Chairperson Branch has submitted his resignation <br /> from the Committee. Council agreed that he would be sorely missed. <br /> Mayor Wilharber stated that the Council would be taking a 5 minute break following the <br /> adjournment of the Council meeting and prior to the commencement of the scheduled work <br /> session. <br /> XI. ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher to Adiourn <br /> the rep-ularly scheduled meeting of September 10. 2014 at 8:05 p.m. All in favor.
