City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> January 14,2015 <br /> refundable earnest money thus allowing additional time for parking considerations or possible <br /> acquisition of additional property. <br /> Attorney Glaser stated that the City is similar to a commercial entity in this respect and would <br /> encourage that the purchase continue even though difficulties could transpire. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to approve the <br /> Amendment to Commercial Purchase Agreement allowing the 60 extension with the $2,500 <br /> non-refundable earnest monev as reviewed. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> Mr. Suski gave an update on 1737 Main Street by stating that he recently had a showing and the <br /> interested individuals desired to open an ice cream shop. Ms. Suski stated that one of the <br /> potential buyers had recently met with the City Administrator and obtain information about small <br /> business financial assistance. The interested individuals resident in Centerville, believe the <br /> building has an open floor plan, is a great location and desire to work with the City regarding all <br /> aspects of operating a business in that location. <br /> Lengthy discussion took place regarding the lack of business competition within close proximity, <br /> new residential developments in neighboring communities either in progress or slated to arrive, <br /> visibility and traffic counts for Main Street. <br /> X. NEW BUSINESS <br /> 1. Res. #15-003 - Appointing Acting Mayor& Order of Succession <br /> Discussion was had regarding individuals retaining their same status as 2014. <br /> Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Love to adopt Res #15- <br /> 003 — Appointing Acting Mavor & Order of Succession with individuals retaining their <br /> roles as in 2014. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> 2. Res. #15-004—Authorizing Appointments for 2015 <br /> Discussion was had regarding individuals retaining their respective appointments as in 2014. <br /> _Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to adopt Res #15- <br /> 004—Authorizing Appointments for 2015 with individuals retaining roles as in 2014 All in <br /> favor. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the need to appoint two candidates (candidate and alternate) to <br /> represent the City at the Anoka County Fire Protection Council. <br /> Consensus of the Council was to appoint Council Member King and alternate Council Member <br /> Fehrenbacher to the Anoka County Fire Protection Council. <br /> Page 4of8 <br /> 4 <br />
