�•�.. .was as va.• va%. <br /> for Anoka County <br /> Creating Peaceful Solutions <br /> We hope that this two sided information sheet will help you decide whether mediation may assist you witk, <br /> your situation and we also hope that you will agree to participate. <br /> Our goal is to facilitate a successful discussion of the issues and to hopefully help you identify new ways to either resolve <br /> the concerns or to find a way to move forward. <br /> Benefits of Mediation: <br /> • Mediation is a voluntary process <br /> • Mediation is relatively low cost <br /> • Mediation provides an opportunity for all parties to express their issues in a safe environment <br /> • In mediation you develop solutions you can live with and you are the decision-maker,whereas in court a third <br /> party decision-maker will determine the solutions that you are forced to live with <br /> • Parties who have reached their own agreement in mediation are generally more likely to follow through and <br /> comply with its terms than those whose resolution has been imposed by a third party decision-maker <br /> Who We Are: <br /> Mediation Services for Anoka County is a community-focused, 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mediators are <br /> community volunteers with various backgrounds, interests, and occupations. All mediators are neutral parties and have <br /> completed at least 40 hours of State training. In addition, each has received at least six hours of additional training every <br /> year. Usually there are two mediators, often a male and a female. <br /> What We Do: <br /> Mediation sessions are typically held weekday evenings from 7 to 9 pm at our Coon Rapids offices (although other <br /> arrangements can be made as needed). We provide mediation to assists parties who have conflicts with each other <br /> reach a mutually acceptable agreement regarding their conflicts.The mediation session is intended to identify issues, <br /> clarify any misunderstandings, explore solutions, and discuss an agreement. <br /> Fee for Service: <br /> Community Mediation is,generally,offered at no charge to the parties unless the mediation is for a large group or <br /> involves monetary recovery.
