NIGHT TO UNITE <br /> The Centennial Lakes Police Department has ; <br /> participated in Night to Unite every year since <br /> 2009. Night to Unite is a community event held <br /> annually on the first Tuesday in August. In <br /> 2014, officers visited seventeen scheduled block <br /> parties in Centerville (9), Circle Pines (6), and <br /> Lexington (2). Residents were joined by law <br /> enforcement officers, local officials, CERT <br /> members, fire fighters, paramedics and <br /> representatives from the Centennial School <br /> District. They were able to voice their concerns <br /> about crime with officers and discuss events held <br /> within the community. Goodies such as water <br /> bottles and wrist bands were handed out to <br /> children to promote safety and crime prevention. <br /> Many children had the chance to meet McGruff <br /> the Crime Dog and take photos with him. <br /> SAFETY CAMP <br /> Safety Camp is a yearly event developed to <br /> increase a child's knowledge and awareness of all <br /> aspects of safety. Centennial Lakes Police <br /> Department works in partnership with Lino Lakes <br /> Police, Centennial and Lexington Fire, North <br /> Ambulance and Parks & Recreation Departments <br /> .aT to host the event. Topics covered at the camp <br /> include: bike safety, fire safety, drug safety, water <br /> My mCAMP safety, personal safety, electrical safety, outdoor <br /> safety, and first-aid. The camp is set up to be <br /> educational and fun. Police Officers and <br /> Community Service Officers work as camp <br /> counselors and teachers during this event.
