City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />March 25, 2015 <br />encouraged the two individuals to participate. Legal Counsel Glaser stated that both individuals <br />have been provided with information regarding Mediation Services along with their original <br />fence applications and permits. <br /> <br />th <br />Ms. Robyn Moore, 7353 – 20 Avenue North <br /> <br />Ms. Moore presented Council with information regarding glyphosate, which is a herbicide <br />developed by Monsanto and sold under the trade name Roundup. Ms. Moore stated that studies <br />have proven it to be a carcinogenic to humans, would like to see its residential usage banned <br />within the City as in other states and cities and on crops that we all eat. Ms. Moore stated that <br />this is a very serious issue being that it not only is transferred to humans through air particles but <br />through the soil as it remains in soil that has been treated for years and placed on crops that are <br />consumed by humans. Ms. Moore stated that not only does the product cause cancer but it is <br />also linked to autism, Parkinson’s Disease and other deficiencies in humans/babies. <br /> <br />Council Member King desired additional information from Ms. Moore and Mayor Wilharber <br />directed staff to ascertain whether the League of MN Cities, Federal or State agencies were in the <br />process of handling concerns similar in nature to Ms. Moore’s. Ms. Moore stated that she would <br />remain in contact with the City regarding the matter. <br /> <br />IV. PUBLIC INPUT/HEARING <br /> <br />1. Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program/MS4 Annual Report <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love to open the <br />Public Input Meeting at 7:10 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Engineer Statz stated that as a storm sewer system operator and permitted by the State of <br />Minnesota for discharging these waters within the metropolitan area and as requirements we <br />must provide an opportunity to residents to review the City’s annual report and provide <br />comment. Engineer Statz also stated that the report addresses public education, conditions of <br />storm ponds, pond dredging, street sweeping, etc. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned whether anyone in the audience desired to comment on the item <br />and no comments were made. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love to close the <br />Public Input Meeting at 7:13 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2. Proposed Assessments – 2015 Mill & Overlay Street Project <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member King to open the <br />Public Hearing for Proposed Assessments – 2015 Mill & Overlay Street Project at 7:14 <br />p.m. All in favor.
