City of Centerville <br />Planning and Zoning Commission <br />April 7, 2015 <br />Mr. Tim McNamara, owner Mechanical Air Systems, Inc., introduced himself to the Commission, <br />stated that he operates a reputable commercial and residential heating and air conditioning <br />business currently in Blaine but they are currently renting and desire to own a building. Mr. <br />McNamara also stated that he has reviewed the proposed conditions that would be placed on his <br />business and is agreeable to them and that he currently employs 14 individuals. <br /> <br />Mr. McNamara also stated that he is both eager to work with the City and to become a thriving <br />business in Centerville. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wood, seconded by Commissioner Koski to close the <br />public hearing at 6:47 p.m. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />IV. OLD BUSINESS – None <br /> <br />V. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1)Draft Report and Recommendation for approval of Conditional Use Permit – <br />th <br />6995 – 20 Avenue South, Mechanical Air Systems, Inc. <br /> <br />The Commission discussed the proposed permit and draft documents. Lengthy discuss <br />ensued regarding the proposed timeframe for paving a 20 foot (minimum) asphalt access to <br />the existing parking lot and the Commission concurred that the presented Conditional Use <br />Permit, Item 3, c. be modified to require completion upon the southerly parcel (Outlot A) <br />being sold and Code requirements regarding the necessity of issuance of a Conditional Use <br />Permit due to the property being zoned B-1 Commercial but being similar in operation to <br />the existing business which is operating under a Conditional Use Permit also. The <br />Commission also felt that the proposed use was consistent with the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Mr. McNamara concurred. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Haiden, seconded by Commissioner Wood to adopt the findings <br />and decision, the proposed Conditional Use Permit as amended and to forward their <br />recommendation for approval of these documents to Council for their consideration. All in <br />favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />2) Metropolitan Council Draft Water Resources Policy Plan – Review & Comment <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson gave a brief overview of all issues centered around water <br />conservation, the White Bear Lake Lawsuit, DNR requirements and permitting, legislation <br />and new legislation, assistance and activeness of State Representative Linda Runbeck and <br />State Senator Roger Chamberlain and requested that the Commissioners review the <br />presented document and provide feedback. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that he felt that the Commissioners should be informed of the <br />issues facing the City, its residents and local businesses. The Commissioners expressed <br />their gratitude for Administrator Ericson’s inclusion of reviewing the report and updates. <br /> <br />VI. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br />Page 2 of 3 <br /> <br />
