DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT
located within the trail alignment. General findings show there is one vertebrate animal of threatened status
within 500 feet of the existing trail alignment. There are none located near the sections of trail still to be
constructed, therefore no impacts to rare plants or animals are anticipated that would require additional
costs for mitigation or avoidance. An archaeological survey will be conducted if required and wetland
delineations will be performed to determine boundaries, so that the trail may be developed in a way that
reduces and/or includes mitigation of the impacted wetlands. In additional soil borings may be taken to
ensure proper construction in areas where soils are questionable. Since this trail alignment is proposed to
traverse open green space areas, wildlife friendly erosion control materials and native seeding will be
incorporated into the trail design.
Table 1
PROPOSED BUNKER-CHAIN OF LAKES REGIONAL TRAIL The development cost estimate for
DEVELOPMENT COST ESTIMATE completion of this trail is$6,066,500.
Description Total The cost breakdown is shown in Table
Design/Engineering/Project Management $540,000 1.There may be some cost savings on
Archaeological Survey $100,000 this estimate if this trail can be
Wetland Delineation $150,000 constructed as part of a future County
Topographic Survey/Construction Staking $300,000 roadway reconstruction project or if
Geotechnical Survey $150,000 trail corridors can be dedicated as
Clearing and grubbing $200,000 part of future development.
Utility relocations,if required $200,000 The schedule for construction of this
Bituminous trail construction $1,600,000 trail will depend on right of way
Pedestrian Bridge Construction $2,000,000 acquisition, roadway reconstruction,
Lighting $50,000 future development along the trail
Landscaping and restoration $150,000 corridor and funding availability;
Signage and striping $50,000 therefore, no significant trail
Site Furnishings $25,000 development is planned within the
Sub Total $5,515,000 next ten years.
