City of Centerville <br /> Council Meeting Minutes <br /> September 9,2015 <br /> X. COUNCIL & ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> 1. Administrator Ericson <br /> Administrator Ericson stated that utility billing was recently mailed out to residents along with a <br /> newly revised City newsletter. Mr. Ericson stated that Staff had completed both of the projects <br /> and feels that Council took steps to ensure a better delivered product. <br /> 2. Council <br /> Attorney Glaser thanked staff for their assistance during his recent illness. <br /> Engineer Statz stated that he would a street plan for Council's next meeting. <br /> Council Member King reported on the recent retiring of previous Parks & Recreation Committee <br /> Chairperson Branch from being the Fete des Lacs 5K/8K Walk/Run Coordinator and the need for <br /> the Committee to consider alternative resources. Council Member King stated that <br /> Administrator Ericson had invited Mr. & Mrs. Terry Thompson, owners of Midwest Events, to <br /> appear before them and provide a presentation of their services for the run coordination. Council <br /> Member King stated that the Committee feels that a new avenue for services may provide <br /> alternate revenue sources and larger participation for the event. <br /> Council Member Paar reminded the audience that an upcoming Out Run Homelessness 5K& 8K <br /> was scheduled for September 19, 2015 at Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park commencing sharply at <br /> 8:00 a.m. Council Member Paar stated that there was a $30 registration fee prior to same day <br /> registration will all proceeds will go to the No One Left Hungry Foundation. Council Member <br /> Paar stated that the same certified courses that were utilized for the Fete des Lacs 5K/8K <br /> Walk/Run will be used. <br /> Council Member Love stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission discussed the downtown <br /> moratorium, the need to hold a public hearing regarding the item, scheduling a public hearing for <br /> October 6, 2015 to consider amending Chapter 156, Section 156.166 regarding parking <br /> regulations for the industrial or warehousing requirements. Council Member Love also stated <br /> that Ruffridge Johnson's architect had met with Staff recently and has submitted a draft site plan. <br /> Administrator Ericson reported that Fire Chief Glen Olson has announced his retirement as of <br /> October 1, 2015 and there would be a gathering following the next Council meeting from 6:00 <br /> p.m. — 8:00 p.m. at Station 1. Administrator Ericson stated October 1, station 2 Glen Olson and <br /> open house 6-8 p.m. 30 years of service after next meeting. <br /> Administrator Ericson also reported that he has spoken with representatives from Connexus <br /> Energy and Xcel regarding the potential for the City placing franchise fees onto residential <br /> billing. <br /> Page 5 of 6 <br /> 7 <br />
