Check Out The HIIII -Sled Safe <br /> Sliding Hill Checklists <br /> Fall (PwSnow Program) <br /> j ❑ I have walked the entire sliding hill-the takeoff area,the hill,and the <br /> run-out area. <br /> ❑ I have removed any obstructions. <br /> ❑ I have checked for new site developments that could make the hill unsafe. <br /> ❑ From the top of the hill I can see the entire hill and run-out area;no parts <br /> are hidden from view. <br /> ❑ I have removed any furniture placed during the spring or summer- <br /> benches,garbage receptacles,signs,etc. <br /> ❑ I have set posts for snow fencing(before the ground freezes)and will <br /> either follow immediately with the snow fence or mark the posts with flu- <br /> orescent paint to make them visible. I have fenced the top,sides and <br /> entire run-out area of the sliding hill. <br /> ❑ I have checked the sliding hill lights for proper operation. <br /> ❑ I have set the sign posts for the sliding season signage,and have found, <br /> reviewed,and replaced damaged or missing signs to provide a full set,as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. safe sledding etiquette, <br /> j2. location of the closest phone, <br /> 3. hours of operation, <br /> 4. a phone number to call if unsafe hill-conditions and/or slid- <br /> ing is occurring, <br /> 5. a list of any banned equipment, <br /> 6. age/skill level appropriateness of hill(s), <br /> i 7. recommending supervision of sledders under 9 years of age <br /> (if appropriate)and requiring supervision of sledders under 6 <br /> years of age,and <br /> 8. hill ascent lane(s)identification. <br /> ❑ I have blocked the use of unsafe/unsanctioned popular sliding areas. <br /> ❑ I have fenced and set up a spectator's area. <br /> ❑ I have fenced and signed the hill ascent lane(s). <br /> ❑ I have limited access to the hill area from parking areas. <br /> ❑ I have organized the supply and delivery of straw bales. <br /> i ❑ I have organized a supply of road sand/gravel(no salt). <br /> ❑ I have cut the grass short after a killing frost.
