City of Centerville <br /> Parks&Recreation Committee <br /> October 7,2015 <br /> Committee Member Bettinger informed the committee members of the proposed <br /> location for the sledding hill, with different slopes for different ages, which would <br /> be located in the southwest corner of Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park. The <br /> amount of fill needed for the hill would be approximately 1,500 yards if 15 feet <br /> high and approximately 700 yards if 10 feet high. There is fill available from <br /> other city projects; the only cost would be to move it to the sledding hill location. <br /> It was recommended that the committee members and City Administrator Ericson <br /> evaluate the proposed location and determine an exact location, best direction of <br /> slope and size of the hill. An estimated cost of moving the existing dirt to the <br /> location is needed. <br /> 2. Hidden Spring Park <br /> Mr. Troy Martenson has requested the use of this park on October 10, 2015 from <br /> 10:00 a.m. to noon for a family/friends get-together. <br /> 3. Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park <br /> Mr. Greg Kieselhorst has requested the use of this park for the Centerville Lions <br /> Membership Drive, hayride and bonfire on October 17, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to <br /> 10:00 P.M. <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Grahek, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Waeghe to recommend to the City Council to approve this request. <br /> All in favor.Motion carried. <br /> 4. Skate Nights and Hayride <br /> The dates for the 2016 Skate Nights will be January 9 and February 6, 2016, from <br /> 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the hayride being scheduled for the February date <br /> from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. It was brought to the committee's attention that the <br /> Bunker Park Stables have the date of February 7 scheduled which needs to be <br /> changed to the 6a' of February. Committee Member Amundson will set up the <br /> correct date and time and have them send the contract for the hayride to city staff. <br /> 5. 2015 Tour de Hugo/The Trail of Two Cities <br /> A recap of this event showed a $2,200 profit this year and a proposed date of <br /> September 24, 2016. <br /> 6. 2016 Fete des Lacs Festival Committee <br /> No update; request this item be placed on the agenda for the November meeting. <br /> Page 2 of 5 <br />
