Recognition of Volunteer Pat Branch <br /> Former P & R Committee Member/Chairperson Pat Branch was honored at the <br /> City Council meeting on September 23, 2015 with a resolution recognizing him for <br /> his years of dedicated public service from December 26, 2007 through July 26, <br /> 2015. <br /> 3. Movie in the Park—Recap <br /> Committee Member Peterson reported this annual event was held on Saturday, <br /> September 12, 2015 with a good turnout for the showing of The Lego Movie. The <br /> projector needs to be adjusted prior to its use in 2016 as the color was off a bit. <br /> The concessions were moved to the pavilion. Advertising in the Friday Flash <br /> should be sent weekly to be ensured that it is contained in each weekly issue prior <br /> to the event; also discussed setting up "sandwich boards". For larger signs it was <br /> suggested to request the use of the printer at the Hugo City Offices for large format <br /> printing. The Committee felt that the current coffee maker for heating water for <br /> the hot chocolate needed to be replaced with a newer, larger model. <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Peterson, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Waeghe to purchase a replacement coffee maker (approximately 40 <br /> cup capacity) at a cost of up to$125. All in favor.Motion carried. <br /> VII. OTHER/ON-GOING <br /> 1. Safety Bases for softball fields <br /> An estimate was received of$199.98 for 2 double Is' base safety (orange) bases <br /> and $149.98 for 2 single safety bases. The Lions will purchase those items. <br /> 2. Popcorn Machine Purchase <br /> The current popcorn machine does not adequately provide enough popcorn for the <br /> P & R sponsored events. After discussion and review of several models, the <br /> committee decided to purchase a larger capacity, commercial grade popcorn <br /> machine with an "old maid" collector. <br /> Motion was made by Committee Member Waeghe, seconded by Committee <br /> Member Peterson to purchase a commercial grade popcorn machine at a cost <br /> of up to$600.
