lY
WWRAO
WASTE MANAGEMENT
January 5, 2016
Mike Ericson: City Administrator
Teresa Bender : City Clerk
City of Centerville
1880 Main Street
Centerville, MN 55038
Dear Mr. Ericson Et Ms. Bender,
Recently you received a price increase for the scheduled price increase based on the CPI. The increase
given to residents was equal to 1%.
As you are probably aware, Anoka County is no longer providing a rebate for material being hauled to
GRE. At the same time, they increased their rates to I believe $75 per ton. Because of this increase,
our disposal cost has gone up dramatically. We did not pass along an increase in the middle of last year
when it increased on July 1, but we will be passing along the increase for 2016. From our rate of $68.00
per ton, there was a $7.00 per ton increase that was effective on 1/1/16. Below is the table indicating
the amount of increase per container along with the note from the contract.
Increase/Ton $7.00
32T $0.15
64T $0.25
96T $0.38
32T $0.08
64T $0.13
96T $0.19
32T $0.04
64T $0.06
96T $0.09
The contract from 2003 allows for disposal increases under D. Payment Method 1. Collection Service.
The contract appears to have had a 2-year option, then in 2013 it appears an addendum was done.
Thank you for your business.
Sincerely,
Mike Donnelly
Waste Management of Minnesota, Inc.
113
