City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />November 12, 2015 <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Love, to approve <br />the Consent Agenda Item #4. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned funding for the exterior lighting proposal. Administrator Ericson <br />stated that a portion of funding would be from the Public Works Funds and 25% each from <br />Sewer and Water Funds respectfully. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that the proposal was for exterior LED lighting and motion detection <br />lighting. Public Works Director Palzer explained that all exterior light bulbs replaced this spring <br />have burnt out due to faulty, corroded and leaking fixtures along with employee safety concerns <br />regarding locations of light switches and current all day lighting use throughout the building. <br />Public Works Director Palzer stated that with the motion detection lighting in certain areas of the <br />building, the lights would stay on for approximately 15 minutes following movement being <br />sensed saving the City energy consumption and have an anticipated payback within 2.54 years. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher to approve Consent Agenda Item #6 as <br />presented with funding coming from the Public Works Funds and 25% from the Sewer <br />and Water Funds. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the usage of Water and Sewer Funds for a portion of the <br />expenditure. <br /> <br />Council Member Fehrenbacher made a friendly amendment to his motion “Contingent <br />upon the Approval of the Finance Director”. <br /> <br />This was confirmed by the Finance Director. <br /> <br />Seconded by Council Member Love. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. None. <br /> <br />IX. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Discussion on Purchase Agreement – 1737 Main Street & Abutting Property (PIN <br /> #23-31-22-21-0058 <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson discussed with Council that Centennial School District #12 has expressed <br />interest in purchasing the City lots mentioned above, however a purchase offer has yet to be <br />received. Administrator Ericson stated that the City has received condemnation proceedings <br />from the School District for the condemnation of 1709 Main Street and that Mr. Dan Huffman, <br />Executive Director of Business Services Centennial School District had recently met with <br />himself and staff regarding the District’s parking lot design and future growth.
