City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 8, 2015 <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher to approve <br />Consent Agenda Items 1-3 as presented. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />Council Member Love questioned the residency of the four (4) individuals slated for hiring. <br />Administrator Ericson stated that three (3) of the individuals have worked for the City in the past <br /> <br />and that all were residents of the City. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve Consent <br />Agenda Item 4 as presented. All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />VIII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. St. Paul Regional Water Sixth Rider to Agreement <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the items was previously approved by Council, however, <br />subsequent to review by the Board of Commissioners Legal Counsel additional language <br />modifications have been made. Attorney Glaser concurred and stated that they made minor <br />changes to protect themselves, the City and would recommend Council’s approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />the St. Paul Regional Water Sixth Rider to Agreement as presented. <br /> <br />Council questioned language regarding liability and Attorney Glaser stated that the work is <br /> <br />essentially completed. <br /> <br />All in favor. Motion passed. <br /> <br />2. Research Update on Glyphosate <br /> <br />Discussed previously. <br /> <br />Council Member King stated that he understood that the City could not ban the use of the <br />product but the City could set a good example to others by not utilizing the product on City <br />property and by informing residents of the potential dangers associated with its use. <br />Administrator Ericson stated that Council requested that he contact the League of Minnesota <br />Cities regarding the matter and they do not have a stance on the matter. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the City contracts with a vendor to apply annual fertilizer to <br />City owned property, the vendor believes and utilizes only amounts authorized by the product <br />label, does not contain active ingredients that either the International Agency for Research on <br />Cancer or the EPA have classified as known or probable carcinogens nor are likely to be <br />carcinogenic, dilutes the fertilizer or weed control mixture with 92% water and only treats those <br />areas that are problem and does not “blanket” an entire area. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />
