<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />March 23, 2016 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting of March 23, 2016 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Mayor Tom Wilharber <br /> Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher <br /> <br />Council Member Steve King <br /> <br /> Council Member D. Love <br /> Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> None <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> City Administrator Mike Ericson <br /> City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> City Engineer Mark Statz <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. PUBLIC HEARING/COMMENT <br /> <br /> <br />1.SWPPP/MS4 Program and Permit <br /> <br />Engineer Statz stated that the city is required to hold an annual public meeting to offer residents <br />the opportunity to comment on the City’s Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan/Municipal <br />Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Plans. He stated that there are several components to the <br />program, including: Public Education and Outreach; Public Participation/Involvement; Illicit <br />Discharge Detection & Elimination and Construction Site Stormwater Runoff. Engineer Statz <br />stated that the City provides the public with information on their web site and at City Hall <br />regarding procedures and good practices for ponding, wetlands, etc. He also stated that <br />instituting the City’s policy regarding the use of salt, sand, and salt brine during the winter <br />months minimizes the impact on the environment. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding fabric covers over manholes and in catch basins during road <br />construction projects and Engineer Statz stated that this is a part of the City’s best management <br />practices and the practice is commonly utilized. <br /> <br /> <br />
