City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 11, 2016 <br />reported on a recent meeting that was held for the Fire Protection Council and that he would be <br />speaking to the Chief regarding grant funding that is operating the organization. <br /> <br />Council Member Fehrenbacher reported that he recently attended a Police Governing Board <br />meeting where the Mayor and Council Member Lover were also in attendance. Council Member <br />Fehrenbacher stated that such items as audit, pension rules and liability, funding of new vehicles, <br />moving on the board meeting to August and the Chief’s successful review with a 2.5% pay <br />increase. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar reported that he recently attended a Fire District meeting, discussion took <br />place regarding purchasing a pumper truck, new vs. used and the Chief’s ability to purchase a <br />new one for $40,000 under budget with many extras. Council Member Paar stated that a vehicle <br />such as this needs to be ordered a year in advance. He also stated other items of discussion were <br />the audit, the Chief’s evaluation with no increase until the completion of one year of <br />employment, call system, the Chief’s watchfull eye on budget and reduction of it, a 2.5% pay <br />increase for the EMS Program Director and David Bruder was appointed Assistant Chief and <br />with a salary increase would no longer be receiving overtime compensation. Mayor Wilharber <br />noted that the District has 47 firefighters with two retirements, a transfer out of state and thanked <br />Council Member Love for his attendance as Mayor Wilharber will no longer be serving after this <br />year. <br /> <br />Council Member Love reported that the Planning & Zoning Commission look forward to Ms. <br />Ganzel’s swearing in as she was out of the Country at their last meeting. He reported that the <br />Commission discussed the tobacco ordinance and stated that additional information was needed <br />regarding hookahs. <br /> <br />City Planner Shardlow reported that several revisions have been made to the ISD #12’s plans and <br />he believes that significant improvements have been made. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber reported that the street lights were out along Main Street in the downtown area <br />and Administrator Ericson stated that he would take care of the issue. Mayor Wilharber also <br />reported that the Centerville Lions donated $500 to the Centennial Fire District. <br /> <br />XIII. ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Paar, seconded by Council Member Fehrenbacher, to Adjourn <br />the Council meeting of May 11, 2016 at 8:05 p.m. All in favor.
