<br />B,,~uL%~ A <br /> <br />! <br /> <br />8 Personal Time Off (PTO) <br /> <br />8.1 General <br /> <br />The purpose of the personal time off plan is to provide employees with an <br />opportunity take leave when necessary. Personal time off for each employee <br />shall begin on the first day of employment with the City of Centerville or, if there <br />is a change of status, on the date the employee becomes eligible. PTO leave will <br />be available for use upon satisfactory completion of an employee's probationary <br />period and as it is accrued during the first year of employment. Each year <br />thereafter, PTO will be awarded at the employee's anniversary date according to <br />the vacation accrual schedule below. <br /> <br />In order to encourage employees to use their personal time off for recreation, <br />employees must use a minimum time of leave per year as listed in the schedule <br />of days below in Section 8.2 Accrual. <br /> <br />8.2 Accrual <br /> <br />A. Number of Days <br /> <br />Each regular, full-time employee shall accrue personal leave at a per pay- <br />period rate that will total the following number of days per year: <br /> <br />Years Service <br /> <br />Earned/Y ear <br /> <br />Required Use/Year <br /> <br />0-5 <br />6-10 <br />Wr ~,tf <br /> <br />22 days <br />27 days <br />32 days <br /> <br />19 days /(. <br />t1.days I? <br />1 ?_.days lL C <br /> <br /> <br />PTO will not continue to accrue while an employee is on lay-off, <br />suspension, or other leave of absence without pay. The personal leave year <br />for each employee shall begin on the date of employment with the City or, if <br />there is a change of status, on the date the employee becomes eligible for <br />personal leave. Employees using earned vacation leave shall be <br />considered to be working for the purpose of accumulating additional <br />vacation leave. <br /> <br />8.3 Requirements <br /> <br />1. Administration of Leave. Except in the case of injury or illness, PTO <br />must be approved in advance by the City Administrator. Requests <br />for planned use of personal time off shall be received at least twenty- <br />four hours in advance of the requested time off.
