<br />2-5 City - The City of Centerville. <br /> <br />2-6 City Administrator - The City Administrator of the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />2-7 City Council - The City Council of the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />2-8 Demotion - The change of an employee's status to a position of having a <br />lower pay range, rank or grade, and/or lesser responsibility than <br />previously held. <br /> <br />2-9 Employee -- Exempt - An at-will employee not covered by the provisions <br />of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> <br />2-10 Employee -- Intermittent - An employee who works occasionally or on- <br />eall for an indefinite time; under the same terms and conditions as a <br />temporary employee. <br /> <br />2-11 Employee -- Full-Time - An at-will employee working at least 40 hours <br />per week who has successfully completed a required probationary period <br />and serves in a position completely funded in the approved City budget for <br />a given fiscal year. <br /> <br />2-12 Employee -- Non-Exempt - An at-will employee covered by the Federal <br />Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> <br />2-13 Employee -- Part-Time - An at-will employee working less than 40 hours <br />per week who has successfully completed the required probationary <br />period and who is not eligible for benefits, other than those mandated by <br />state or federal law. <br /> <br />2-14 Employee -- Probationary - A period of time at the beginning of <br />employment (or the beginning period of a promotion, transfer) that is <br />designed as a trial period. The probationary period is also considered a <br />period and is the last part of the selection process. <br /> <br />2-15 Employee -- Regular - An at-will employee who has successfully <br />completed all stages of the selection process including the training period <br />and/or probationary period. <br /> <br />2-16 Employee -- Seasonal - A full-time or part-time employee whose <br />appointment is limited to a specific season of the year and is employed <br />under the same terms and conditions as a temporary employee. <br /> <br />2-17 Employee -- Temporary - A full-time or part-time employee who serves <br />in a position on a temporary basis where no benefit eligibility exists and no <br />credit is given for seniority. <br /> <br />3 <br />
