<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />January 8, 2003 <br /> <br />Ms. Paulseth explained that this was in place, but needs to be signed. She explained that <br />the cafeteria plan gives City employees more options with their benefits. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard-Vickers asked if City Attorney Hoeft had reviewed. Mr. <br />Hoeft stated his office had. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member Paar <br />to approve Resolution #03-003 Authorizin2: Mayor's Si2:nature on Cafeteria Plan <br />Documentation. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously, <br /> <br />7. ABDO, Eick & Meyers - 2002 Audit <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked about information the former Council had requested <br />concerning alternative audit firms. <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Paulseth stated that she and Ms. Moore-Sykes had done some research on <br />alternatives but felt it was a little late in the year to make a change. She has been <br />working with Eick & Meyer for quite some time and would hate to change this .year. <br />GivGusL'-:,wgfthe concerns oflast year that are still being resolved she would lik, to get <br />:tlllQughchis.giving the new Council a chance to work with the. finn. <br /> <br /> <br />Council Member Capra explained they had many problems with the firm..in the past. <br />Mayor Sweeney stated the information he has says they'd give feedback if they found <br />something but were not looking for problems. Council Member Broussard-Vickers <br />indicated the previous Council felt they gave a qualified opinion. <br /> <br />Mr. Paulseth stated she felt they didn't have a choice. She indicated she was comfortable <br />with the firm, however she wouldn't have a problem switching, just not this late in the <br />game. Mayor Sweeney agreed that he doesn't feel comfortable recommending a change <br />now. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes stated that if after this year Council doesn't feel they are appropriate or <br />adequate the research is there to move forward with bids. Ms. Paulseth added that they <br />have not yet resolved the TIF issue and to release the company now would not be in the <br />best interest of the City. <br /> <br />2. Resolution #03-001 ~ Appointments - Commission/Committees & Council <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney stated the Acting Mayor was typically the Senior Council Person, which <br />in this case is Council Member Broussard Vickers. His recommendation is that she be <br />named Acting Mayor. <br /> <br />Centerville Centennial Fire District Steering Committee Members - Council Member <br />Capra and Council Member Tom Lee. <br /> <br />Page 12 of20 <br />
