<br />"Construction Debris" means waste building materials, pa.ckaging, and rubble resulting from <br />construction, remodeling, repair, and demolition of buildings and road. <br /> <br />"Day-Certain Collection" means a City approved plan for weekly collection services by an <br />established day-certain schedule. This schedule requires that a route must be collected on the <br />same day of each week and is based on a five (5) day, Monday - Friday, working week. The <br />only exceptions to the "day-certain" plan shall be during those weeks in which occur legal <br />holidays as listed in Appendix C. <br /> <br />"Disposal" or "Di:-pose" means the discharge, deposit, injection, dumping, spilling, leaking, or <br />placing of any waste into or on any land or water so that the waste or any constituent thereof may <br />enter the environment or be emitted into the air, or discharge into any water, including ground <br />water. <br /> <br />"Garbage" means organic waste including discarded material resulting from the handling, <br />processing, storage, preparation, serving, and consumption or food. <br /> <br />"Industrial Waste" means solid waste resulting from an industrial, manufacturing, service, or <br />commercial activity that is managed as a separate waste system. <br /> <br />"Hazardous Waste" means any refuse, sludge, or other waste material or combinations of refuse, <br />sludge or other waste materials in solid, semisolid, or liquid, or contained gaseous form which <br />because of its quantity, concentration, or chemical, physical or infections characteristics may (a) <br />cause or significantly contribute to an increase in mortality or an increase in serious irreversible, <br />or incapacitating reversible illness; or (b) pose substantial present or potential hazard to human <br />health or the environment when improperly treated, stored, transported, or disposed or otherwise <br />managed. Categories of hazardous waste materials include, but are not limited to: explosives, <br />flammable, oxidizers, poisons, irritants, and corrosives. Hazardous waste does not include <br />source, special nuclear, or by-product material as defined by the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as <br />am'ended. (MS 115 A. 03) <br /> <br />Household Hazardous Waste" means those wastes that cannot be disposed of through recycling <br />efforts or refuse collection. These include, but are not limited to: aerosol spray cans, ammunition <br />and explosives, cleaners, paint, paint thinner, staining products, varnishes, insect repellant spray <br />cans, smoke detectors. and many more. These are wastes that are generated in the operation of a <br />home and are based on limited, household quantities. <br /> <br />"Major Appliances" means clothes washers and dryers, dishwashers, hot water heaters, heat <br />pumps, furnaces, garbage disposal, trash compactors, conventional and microwave ovens, ranges <br />and stoves, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, refrigerators, and freezers. <br /> <br />',}v1ixed Municipal Solid Waste" means garbage, refuse, and other solid waste from residential <br />commercial, industrial, and community activities that the generator of the waste aggregates for <br />collection, but does not include auto hulks, street sweeping, ash, construction debris, mining <br />waste, sludges, tree and agricultural wastes, tires, processed and disposed of as separate waste <br />streams. <br /> <br />2 <br />
