<br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES <br />July 27, 2016 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting of July 27, 2016 at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br /> Mayor Tom Wilharber <br />Council Member Jeff Paar <br /> Council Member Ben Fehrenbacher <br /> <br />Council Member Steve King <br /> Council Member D. Love <br /> <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br /> None. <br /> <br />STAFF: <br /> City Administrator Mike Ericson <br /> City Attorney Kurt Glaser <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> <br />III. APPOINTMENTS/PRESENTATIONS <br /> <br /> <br />1.Proposed Drawdown of Peltier Lake – RCWD Lake & Stream Specialist – Matt Kocian <br /> <br />Mr. Kocian provided a brief overview of the proposed project and stated that the local newspaper <br />recently published a well summarized article on the project. He stated that the drawdown would <br />commence approximately September 19 and last through early spring or when ice came off the <br />lake. He also stated that the drawdown would be completed to improve water quality, clarity and <br />diminish invasive aquatic plant life. He reported that the lake would be allowed to refill in the <br />spring in a week or a few days. He also reported that 84% of the abutting property owners <br />support the project and 75% support is required. Mr. Kocian stated that 45-50 people attended <br />the recent public hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned whether the water quality of Centerville Lake would be jeopardized <br />by this action and Mr. Kocian explained that there is a single culvert between the two lakes <br />which contains a water control structure and is operated by St. Paul Regional Water. He also <br />stated that the water quality of Centerville Lake has half or one third of phosphorous than Peltier <br />Lake. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber stated that he attended the meeting and was very impressed with the DNR and <br />engineers that are involved with the project and looks forward to water quality improvement of <br /> <br />
