City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />September 14, 2016 <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member King to Approve the <br />th <br />Rezoning of 6867 – 20 Avenue South to I-1 Industrial and the Associated Comprehensive <br />Plan Amendment. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />IX. COUNCIL & ADMINISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT <br /> <br /> <br />1.Administrator Ericson <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson reported that he and Council Member King attended the N.E. Water <br />Summit recently at the City of Hugo, the USGS report would be completed at the end of the <br />month and that many agencies and elected official were present to discuss a proposed Joint <br />Powers Agreement. He also stated that phase two would be completed in December, all cities <br />were represented and the City of Lino Lakes is not interested in completing anything jointly. <br /> <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the next meeting, Tier II cities and Council Member King <br />reported that he has completed some research regarding Skytem and would like to forward that <br />information to the attendees of the meetings. Discussions ensued regarding previous levels of <br />White Bear Lake, amount of money that this potentially cost effected cities, how costly the <br />research is, the need to be patient and proactive and the City of Hugo’s roll in leadership of this <br />issue and hosting the meetings. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that the League of Woman Voters would be holding a candidate <br />forum on October 10, 2016 here at City Hall at 6:30 p.m. providing voters with an opportunity to <br />meet and learn about those that are running for Council. He also stated that North Metro TV <br />would be host a debate for these same candidates which will be cablecast in the near future. <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that Movie in the Park “Peanuts” went well and it was a quality <br />event. He thanked the P & R Committee for their volunteerism and stated that it was a great <br />community event. <br /> <br />Engineer Statz stated that he and Staff are currently working on the 2017 Overlay Plan and <br />proposal for the downtown area. He stated that he anticipated that information would be <br />forthcoming. <br /> <br />Council Member King requested that the information for Skytem be included in the N.E. Water <br />Summit’s next packet. <br /> <br />Council Liaison Love stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission met Mr. Gary Spanier, <br />Rumble Industries, LLC, who desires a Conditional Use Permit for a motor vehicle sales and <br />service business, (primarily motorcycles, ATV’s and snowmobiles – excluding automobiles). He <br />stated that a public hearing would be held at P & Z’s next meeting. <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Paar reported that elections were upcoming and thanked volunteers and local <br />business owners. <br /> <br /> <br />Page 5 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
