CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br /> APRIL 12, 2006 <br />6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting on April 12, 2006, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: <br />Mayor Mary Capra <br /> Council Member Lee <br /> Council Member Lakso <br /> Council Member Paar <br /> Council Member Terway <br /> <br />ABSENT: <br />None. <br /> <br />STAFF: <br />City Engineer Mr. Peterson <br /> City Administrator Larson <br /> <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Capra called the April 12, 2006, City Council meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />1. Local Board of Appeal and Equalization, Anoka County <br /> <br />Mayor Capra opened the public hearing at 6:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Huss explained that this hearing is for valuation and not for tax purposes. She then <br />said that the Department of Revenue will be monitoring parcels owned by board <br />members or relatives or if anyone has financial interest and will be keeping record of that <br />and will call random surveys who attended the Boards to see public perception and see if <br />the requirements are met with the training. She then outlined the increases in residential, <br />commercial and multiple housing valuations. <br /> <br />Ms. Huss noted that the State requires them to be at 100% of market value and they are at <br />96% for Centerville. <br /> <br />Jim Van Houdt of 1748 Ojibway Drive thanked Council for fixing the drainage in his <br />area. He then said he represents the Twin Town Homes of Eagle Pass and, as an <br />Association, they do not understand this process. <br /> <br />
