City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 12, 2006 <br />Mayor Capra said that she believes that the scope of the project cannot change at <br />this point so the project is what it is and if they had the decide not to proceed they <br />would turn back federal funds. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway suggested the City should do the backage road even if <br />County Road 14 does not go through. <br /> <br />Council Member Lakso agreed that it needs to move forward. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Terway, seconded by Council Member Lee, to <br />authorize changing the bid date to May 4, 2006 and authorization to <br />structure bid to recognize the issue with the easements based on <br />recommendation of Staff and the Engineer. All in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Business Person/Life Time Achievement Awards <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked if Council wanted to take nominations for this person and <br />have the Council make the decision. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated that the lifetime achievement is more work and she would <br />like to delay that right now. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra asked whether Council wishes to form an EDA. <br /> <br />Council is taking nominations for business person of the year. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson suggested moving out the fire trucks and having the <br />event in the fire bay. <br /> <br />Council set June 13, 2006 set for the Business Appreciation Dinner. <br /> <br />3. CSAH 14 Improvement <br /> <br /> Discussed previously. <br /> <br />4. CMC Designation – City Clerk, Teresa Bender <br /> <br />Mr. Larson indicated that Ms. Bender went through three years worth of training <br />and the process of submitting credentials and certificates and recommendations <br />and received the CMC designation. <br /> <br />Council commended her for doing so. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra indicated she received a thank you letter from the Governor’s Chief <br />of Staff thanking those that went to visit him last week. <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />
