City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />April 12, 2006 <br /> <br />Council Member Lee agreed. <br /> <br />Mayor Capra said she would be open to paying the City portion but there was no <br />agreement and she would not negotiate anything else. <br /> <br />Council Member Terway said that he would be amenable to pay the City’s share <br />of whatever would be required in a normal real estate transaction but asked if the <br />City would normally pay taxes. He then said he would like the legal staff to look <br />at this. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that the Police Chief would like to schedule <br />an open house for the public on June 1, 2006. <br /> <br />Council agreed. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson suggested calling the building the Centennial Lakes <br />Law Enforcement Center. <br /> <br />Council liked it. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson informed Council that staff is working on updating the <br />fee schedule for consideration. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated there is draft for Fairview Avenue street <br />construction as the developer wants to build the project using the City’s engineer <br />for design and turn it over to the City when it is done. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated he met with representatives from Sheehy to <br />discuss easements on the backage road to get right of entry to start building the <br />street but they will not sign the document until they know what the special <br />assessments are. He then indicated that Staff informed them of the proposed <br />amount and they feel it is too high. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson indicated that Staff will meet with him again to discuss <br />the matter. He then said that Staff will begin the condemnation process as quickly <br />as possible while trying to work this out. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee said the County has been hinting that they may pull the <br />project all together and the City does not need the backage road if that happens. <br /> <br />City Administrator Larson said that he has not gotten feedback on that but Staff is <br />meeting with the project management team tomorrow. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 10 <br />
