City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />October 12, 2016 <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber provided an opportunity for Council Members to remove any agenda items for <br />discussion. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber requested that Items 4 & 6 be pulled for further discussion. Council Member <br />Love requested that Item 5 be pulled for further discussion. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Fehrenbacher, seconded by Council Member King to Approve <br />Consent Agenda Items 1, 2 & 3 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned whether the Public Works Department had authorized the <br />encroachment agreement as generally there is a memorandum included in the packet. City <br />Administrator Ericson noted they had a verbal approval from the Public Works Department. <br />Mayor Wilharber questioned the amount of funds that the Parks & Recreation Committee are <br />requesting to be carried forward and Administrator Ericson stated $8,827.28 for 2016 and any <br />remaining budgeted funds unspent from 2016 which is anticipated to be less than 2015. <br /> <br />Council Member Love stated that the Planning & Zoning Commission considered a Conditional <br />Use Permit for Mr. Gary Spanier, Rumble Industries, LLC who is looking to purchase 2030 <br />Main Street. He stated that Mr. Spanier desires to relocate his business from Spring Lake Park. <br /> <br />Mr. Spanier was present and stated that he desires to relocate his business to 2030 Main Street as <br />it will provide a more visible location, is larger than his existing building and he believes his <br />business will be a great addition to Centerville. Mr. Spanier also stated that he operates a clean <br />location, provides a service similar to the larger dealers (Honda, Victory or Harley Davidson) <br />without the high overhead allowing for reasonable rates to be charged to the consumer. He also <br />reported that he looks forward to building a relationship with the community and is eager to <br />move in. <br /> <br />Council Member Love reported that Mr. Spanier anticipates opening the business at the <br />Centerville location March 1, 2017. Council welcomed Mr. Spanier. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Love, seconded by Council Member King to Approve Consent <br />Items 4, 5 & 6 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />VII. OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.City Owned Properties – Listing Agreements (Mr. Mike Brass, Colliers <br />th <br />International) (7030 – 20 Avenue South, 2065 Commerce Drive, 1688 & 1694 <br />Sorel, 7073 Centerville Road & PIN #s 23-31-22-23-0005, 0006, 0007 & 0014) <br /> <br />Administrator Ericson stated that previously Council directed staff to forward to them listing <br />agreements. Subsequent to the review by the City Attorney, he has added language to protect <br />both the broker and the City regarding any prospective leads that Gaughan Companies had been <br />working with within the last six months of their listing agreements for commission potential. <br />Page 3 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
