City of Centerville <br />Parks & Recreation Committee <br />April 1, 2017 <br />Brief discussion was held regarding regulating the use of spray paint for these events <br />unless it is in the grass. <br />Motion by Committee Member Waeahe, seconded by Council Member Peterson to <br />Recommend to Council Approval of the Special Event Permit Application — Outrun <br />Homelessness Long Underwear Run Excluding Spray Painting on Asphalted <br />Surfaces as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br />5. Movie in the Park — Item Added <br />Committee Member Peterson stated that the date is scheduled for September 16, 2017 <br />with a rain date of September 23, 2017. He stated that he is looking for ideas for a movie <br />and all other planning is continuing. Committee Member Peterson requested that this <br />item be placed under Unfinished Business next month. <br />VTI. UPDATES/OTHER <br />1. Council Updates — Council Member Matt Montain <br />Council Member Montain updated the Committee stating that Staff is drafting a shortened <br />version of the Special Event Permit Application and it should be in use shortly. He stated <br />that he will be delivering the snow maker to Public Works within the next month in <br />preparation for this winter's use. <br />2. Replacement of Audio Equipment <br />The Committee was unclear as to the reasoning behind this item being placed on their agenda <br />and they felt that they had previously motioned for the equipment purchase. It was stated <br />that the City will advertise the replaced equipment on the League of MN Cities web site. <br />The Clerk has researched this item and records indicate that it was added to the S Year Park <br />Improvement Projects with a dollar value not exceeding $2, 000, however a motion was never <br />made. <br />3. Review 5 Year P & R Projects List <br />The Committee discussed Adding Pickle Ball courts (similar to Forest Lakes), utilizing tennis <br />courts in the same courts as the sizes are different but they work well along side each other, <br />addition of benches throughout the City. <br />The Committee discussed the condition of the Mill Road trail. Public Works Director Palzer <br />stated that he would visually inspect the trail and report back to the Committee <br />4. Vacancies <br />The Committee stated that it has been difficult to attract members and requested that each <br />member spread the word. <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />
