City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />February 8, 2017 <br />Council Member Montain reported that he recently attended the Anoka County Fire Protection <br />meeting where fire radio prices were increasing and a slight fee increase of just over $100 would be <br />passed along to members due to approval of their 2018 budget. He also reported that the Fire <br />Academy would be commencing on February 15, 2017 for Inspector Classes, work continues on a <br />Joint Powers Agreement, a Red Cross presentation was viewed for Safety Surveys similar to what <br />Centennial Fire is already offering to residents and that two (2) North Memorial Medics were recently <br />attacked by a patient. He desired to pass on his wishes for quick recovery and thanked all that came <br />to their assistance. <br />Council Member Montain also reported that the Parks & Recreation Committee was gearing up for <br />Fete des Lacs and Skate Night on February 11, 2017. He also stated that the Committee is looking to <br />replace its audio equipment. <br />The Mayor reminded individuals about the fishing contest scheduled for February 18, 2017 and <br />Shake your Shamrock runs in March. <br />Mayor Paar stated that he and Council Member Koski attended the League of MN Cities Newly <br />Elected Council Member/Mayor seminar. The two (2) attended one (1) session together and then <br />broke apart for key position sessions. He explained that in his session they discussed delivery of core <br />services, Council working as a team, effective relationships with Staff, allowing Staff to complete <br />their responsibilities without interference, the economy, goals, budgets, equality, equity and racial <br />tensions. Mayor Paar stated that the League of MN Cities has great ideas and tips regarding fairly <br />treating others as you would desire to be treated. <br />Mayor Paar closed the meeting by stating that he is a firm believer that you do not judge a book by its <br />cover. <br />X11. ADJOURNMENT <br />Motion by Council Member Montain, seconded by Council Member Koski to Adjourn the <br />Council Meeting of February 8, 2017 at 9:30 p.m. All in favor.
