City of Centerville
Council Meeting Minutes
May 10, 2006

Council Member Paar indicated that in the scheme of this project, $40,000 is not much
money so he would like to have it replaced.

Council Member T erway indicated he would like to see it done with the project.

Mayor Capra said that this is in a precarious location so she would rather have it fixed
now rather than having to mess with it later.

Council Member Lakso indicated that she would go with the recommendation of the
Engineer not to fix something that is not broken but it is hard to tell how long it would be
before it needs replacing.

~9(~n by Co.,ncU l\fember Tea:wav. sec..dell by ~,qnciJ ~eDl~er Paa" ~O
authorize the City Ensdneer to move forward with City infrastructure. sanitary
sewer t~u'c;~ mai.. ~ ,rooosed ~O,~ f~ ~e indu4ect g. the ~ou~~ PI}u} bv op~
cut. He then said that Staff could explore grant funds to do so.
He further indicated that it is tight in that area and it may not be possible to get it above
the creek and below the roadway.

Council Member Terway suggested investigating the possibility though it may not be
feasible.

Mayor Capra indicated that she is unsure how the City could afford it unless grants were
received, as this project is quite costly. It would be a wonderful thing to have but it
would be difficult to fund and may be difficult to locate in that area.

City Administrator Larson indicated the En!!ineer has been work in!! on a feasibility studv
-.*' .., . ~..---- .--- - ....' . fwI ,., . -.- fo; -,' ~ "..,

for the improvements on Old Mill Road and there are questions on how to split the costs.
He then asked Council whether to include the properties on the other side of the road in
the costs or whether the City contributes costs.

Council Member Lee said if the property benefits then they should be assessed.

Council agreed to go to the City limits.

City Engineer Statz asked Council to consider the type of assessment or policy to look at
whether front foot or by the acre.

City Administrator Larson indicated it would be by developable lot numbers.

City Administrator Larson indicated the intention was to draw down the water tower and
repair the valve and they assumed that the interconnect would mean business as usual but

9
