City of Centerville
Council Meeting Minutes
May 10,2006
Council Member Lakso indicated that the plan is special and this needs to be done
to allow the City to follow the plan. She then said she does not consider it spot
zoning.

City Administrator Larson indicated that communities that have put these plans
into place usually do not see results for four or five years as it does take some
time.

Mayor Capra indicated she would like this reviewed in six years or so.

Council Member Paar asked whether the people living in this area will be noticed.
City Administrator Larson indicated that they were noticed of this meeting and
provided information on the text change.

Mayor Capra noted that nonconforming structures can now be replaced to
preexisting condition but cannot be expanded.

Mayor Capra indicated she would like to review the accessory structures with
regard to what mayor may not be allowed in the downtown area.

Council Member Paar indicated he is concerned about looking at separate
structures on a case by case basis so he would rather make this done tonight rather
than being vague and saying that the City will review it.

Mayor Capra said she is fine with the proposal but she would like the accessory
structures reviewed for a recommendation on what would be allowed.

City Administrator Larson indicated it would need to be reviewed to determine
whether it would be expanding a nonconforming use.

Motion bv Council Member Pasr. second~ bv Council Member l..ak~()~ to
approve Resolution #06-029 Downtown Redevelopment Comprehensive Plan
Amen4~elJt.
