City of Centerville <br /> Parks&Recreation Committee <br /> October 4,2017 <br /> 3. Anoka County Radio Club Use of Laurie LaMotte Park, October 31, <br /> 2017 <br /> The Club has requested to use the Laurie LaMotte parking lot on Tuesday, <br /> October 31, 2017 from 8:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m. City Clerk Bender stated that there <br /> were no conflicts with date. <br /> Motion by Chairperson Seeleyseconded b Committee Member Grahek to <br /> Recommend to Council to Approve the Reguest from the Anoka County <br /> Radio Club as Presented. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> 4. Fete des Lacs Revenue &Expenditures <br /> Committee Member Grahek pointed out that the Festival of Lakes 8K/5K/Kids <br /> Run resulted in a financial loss of$8,235.75. Discussion continued as to whether <br /> or not the committee should hold the race in 2018. Committee Member Seeley <br /> questioned why Ms. Kolstad opted out of continuing as Race Coordinator. City <br /> Clerk Bender suggested Midwest Events or another organization to run coordinate <br /> the race. <br /> Committee Members Peterson suggested scaling it down and make it about our <br /> community, invest less time, less money, and less resources. Committee Member <br /> Grahek stated that the race is a nice addition during Fete des. Committee Member <br /> Grahek stated that this needs to be tabled for now and to think about the option of <br /> another company running it. Council Member Montain stated that the Committee <br /> could offer just a kids run with minimal effort. Committee Member Seeley <br /> suggested inviting Midwest Events to November's Park & Ree meeting. <br /> Committee Member Grahek stated that a decision should be made after the date <br /> for Fete des Lacs is decided upon. Committee Member Peterson stated that the <br /> race could have a whole different feel to it if another company comes in to <br /> orchestrate the race and asked what is the real goal. Committee Member Seeley <br /> commented that it is not a money maker and the event should break even. <br /> Chairperson Waeghe suggested tabling this issue for now and start action to <br /> inviting someone. <br /> 5. Mr. Troy Martenson, Re/Max Results Use of Hidden Spring Park, <br /> October 21,2017 10:00 a.m.—Noon (Pumpkin Give-Away) <br /> Motion by Chairperson Peterson, seconded by Committee Member Grahek <br /> to Approve the Re nest from Mr. Martenson as Presented.
