<br />City ofCenterville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />December 19,2002 <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft recommended reconsidering the motion to indicate that Council now <br />wishes to accept land and money. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Travis to <br />reconsider the motion to accept park dedication fees in lieu of property. Ayes - 4, <br />Nays -1 (Broussard Vickers). Motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Travis, seconded by Council Member Capra to accept <br />property referred to as Outlots A and D, Outlot D also referred to as the property <br />SW of the channel to the lake as well as park dedication fees. All in favor. Motion <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to close the public hearin2. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg closed the public hearing at 7: 17 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Nelson to approve the preliminary plat subject to final completion of the developer's <br />a2reement, City Attorney and City En2ineer review, and contingent upon the plat <br />being for single-family homes. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />2. Adoption of the 2003 Budget and Levy <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg opened the public hearing at 7:21 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Paulseth indicated a public hearing is required but no notice is required. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg requested that line items be added under capital projects to include the <br />21st Avenue project, Mound Trail, and the Police item. <br /> <br />Motion by Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded by Council Member <br />Travis to close the public hearing. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg closed the public hearing at 7:23 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedben!, seconded by Council Member Capra to approve <br />Resolution #02-066 as presented. Ayes - 4, Nays - 1 (Broussard Vickers). Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Swedberg, seconded by Council Member Nelson to approve the <br />2003 budget with the capital improvement project line items as added earlier. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Paulseth commented that high taxes for Centerville was old news and, as for the <br />figures for 2003, the levy was kept the same and the tax capacity increased by 25% so the <br />City was fourth or fifth and should be lower than that as the City is going from 69.4 to <br />59.3. <br /> <br />Page 5 of 15 <br />
