This means they <br />receiv:e a p:redeteanined amount of pay each pay period and ate not paid by the hour. <br />Their pay does not vary based on the quality or quantity of work petfotmed, and <br />they receive their full weekly sala.ty for any week in which any work is petfotmed. <br />The City will only make deductions from the weekly sa.1ar:y of an exempt Employee <br />in the fonowing situations: <br /> <br />A) <br /> <br />B) <br /> <br />C) <br /> <br />D) <br /> <br />E) <br /> <br />The Employee is in a position that does not eam personal leave and is absent <br />o for a day or mote for personal reasons other thanosickness or accident. <br /> <br />The Employee is in a position that eatD.S personal leave, receives a short term. <br />disability benefit or workers' co1Ppensation wage loss benefits, and is absent <br />for a full day due to siclm.ess or disability, but he/she is either not yet <br />qualified to use the paid leave or he/she has p.yhgusted all of his/her paid <br />leave. <br /> <br />The Employee is absent for a full workweek and, for whatever reason, the <br />absence is not cha.rged to paid leave (for example, a situation where the <br />Employee has exhausted all of his/her paid leave or a situation where the <br />Employee does not earn paid 1eave.) 0 <br /> <br />The very first workweek oro the very last workweek of employment with the <br />City in which the Employee does not work a full week. In this case, the City <br />will prorate the Employee's salary based on the time actually worked. <br /> <br />The Employee is in a position that eatD.S paid leave and iso absent for a partial <br />day due to personal reasons, illness or injuty, but <br />. Paid leave has not been :requested or has been denied; <br />. Paid leave is exhausted; <br />. The Employee has specifica1ly :requested unpaid leave: <br /> <br />F) <br /> <br />The Employee is suspended without pay for a full day or mote for <br />disciplinaty reasons for violations of any written policy that is applied to all <br />Employees. <br /> <br />The Employee takes unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act <br />(FMLA). <br /> <br />G) <br /> <br />II) <br /> <br />The City may for b~dget 0 reasonS implement" a voIW:itaty or involunta1:y". 0 <br />unpaid leave .prog:rani. and, under this prograni, make deductions from the <br />o weeklyoSa1aq of an exempt Employ~ In this case, the Emp~oyee will be <br />treated as non-exempt for any workweek in which the budget-related <br />deductions ate made. <br /> <br />14 <br />
