The donation of persoruil leave from one <br />" Einployee to another' shall be 'subject to the' additional following teahs and <br />conditions. <br /> <br />(A) ,A written request to donate personal leave must be made to the qty Council <br />via the City Administratot. <br /> <br />(B) The City Administrator shall have the right to deny use of donated personal <br />leave ot limit its use in the best interests of the City. <br /> <br />9. LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br /> <br />9.1 Unpaid Leave <br /> <br />, General: The City Administrator may authorize an unpaid leave of absence fot up <br />to ten (10) days. Unpaid leaves of absence for greater periods must be authorized by <br />the City Council Decisions on unpaid leave of absence tequests will no.rmally take <br />into consideration the Employee's petfonnance, length of service and the general <br />interest of the City. No Employee benefits will be eamed' by an Employee w~ on <br />unpaid leave of absence and an Employee will not acaue ot be paid holiday payor <br />PrO leave while on leave of absence. Leave of absence homs will not count towatd <br />seniority and all accrued PrO must nonnally be used before an unpaid leave of <br />absence will be approved. <br /> <br />9.2 Medical Leave <br /> <br />General: ' Full-time employees may take of to six (6) weeks of unpaid leave for <br />reasons relating to family and medical care. <br /> <br />EJigI"ble Uses: Eligible Employees can take up to six (6) workweeks of unpaid leave <br />during a twelve (12) month period to care for a newbom ot newly adopted child or <br />newly-placed foster child; care fot a spouse; son, daughter or parent with a serious <br />health condition; ot care for themselves during a serious health condition. A serious <br />health condition is defined as: <br /> <br />(A) An illness, injury, im~i1'1'ne1lt ot physical ot mental condition that involves <br />either inpatient care ot continuing treatment by a health care provideJ: fot <br />three (3) or more c01;lSecuttve days; <br /> <br />-- ....;.. ~. -' ~~~. <br /> <br />'(B) Any period of incapacity because of pregnancy ot ptenatal care; <br />(C) Any period of incapacity because of a chronic, serious condition; <br /> <br />19 <br />
