DRUG FREE WORKPLACE <br /> <br />Gen~: In acco:rdance with federal law, the City of CeQ.terviD.e has adopted the <br />"- folloWing policy on drugs in the wotkplace: <br /> <br />The unlawful ma:nu&ctate, distribution, possession, or use of a controlled <br />substance on City property or While con~ City business is absolutely <br />prohibited. Vi6la:tions of this policy will :result in disciplinaty action, up to <br />and inc1.uding tP.nn1n~tion, and may have legal consequenceS. <br /> <br />The ,City reeogOizes drug dei>encIency as an" illness and a major health <br />problem. The City alSo ":recognizes dtug abuse 'as a P9tential health, safety <br />and security problem. Employees' needing help in tt~Hng with "such <br />problems ate encouraged to use their health insurance plans, as appropriate. <br /> <br />Employees" must, as a condition of employment, abide by the te:rms of the <br />CitY's' di:Ug and alCohol polier and must report any conviction under a <br />r.rim1n~l' drug statute fot violations occw:ring on or off the work premises <br />while conducting City business. It is the City's intent and obligation to provide a drug-free, safe <br />and seCure work envirOnment. ' <br /> <br />DiscipJiiJ.e: Employees are prohibited from possessing or co~ alcohol or <br />non-prescription d:rugs while on the job. .Any Employee who reports to work <br />incapacitated or whose performance is impaired through the use of alcohol or non- <br />prescription d:rugs will ~ subject to disciplinaty action. <br /> <br />Leave: In instances where it is necessary, petsonalleave may be gmnted for an <br />evaluation, treatment or r.ehab111tation on the same basis as is" gmnted for ordinaty <br />h~ prob~.
