<br />Ms. Jen Smith, Chain of Lakes YMCA made an appearance to discuss the 1 at Annual Frozen SK Run <br />being held during Frozen Fete des Lacs. There are fliers available with a registration form at City Hall <br />and on the city's web site. Centerville businesses are sponsoring the event by covering the YMCA's <br />costs to run the event. There will be t-shirts and prizes available to all who participate. Pre- <br />registration is preferred, but registration will also be accepted the day of the race. Chairperson Burke <br />hopes to also tie this race into the summer Fete des Lacs. <br /> <br />As fir as advertising, Chairperson Burke suggested using the same flier and poster as last year since <br />the art work is already done and will just have to be slightly modified with current dates and time. It <br />was suggested the Car Races on Ice be promoted by offering rides to interested persons in the race cars <br />and perhaps having a race car on a trailer parked at Comer :Express a week or two prior to the races. <br />Mr. Kapaun will speak with Mr. Todd StefFen, Comer Express regarding reserving the sign during the <br />week: prior to the event and the possibility of parking a car in the Comer Express parking lot. Council <br />Member Paar has contacted Mr. Tun Guy regarding promoting the event on Chamiel 5 News by <br />possibly broadca..ldi"8 from Centerville Lake. Council Member Paar will follow up with this item. <br />Ms. Stephan will contact North Metro Cable to determine if there is an interest in being present at any <br />of the events. <br /> <br />Committee Member Rehbine stated the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Golf on Ice <br />again this year, with an expanded event. The committee discussed the coloring contest Mainstreet <br />Bank: has sponsored in the past and decided as this was not well received in the past, Chairperson <br />Burke would ask Mr. ~ President of Mainstreet Bank if the bank: employees would be <br />interested in sponsoring the Snow Sculpture Contest. Vice-Chairperson Smith will contact the Lino <br />Lakes Canine Unit regarding having a demonstration on Saturday, February 19 tentatively set for 1:00 <br />to 3:00 p.m. The Centerville Business Women have volunteered to run the snowball toss again this <br />year. Chairperson Burke stated the Experimental Aircraft Association plans to participate by offering <br />airplane rides to children again this year. The committee had previously discussed ways of <br />coordintJti"8 the schedule for the airplane rides more efficiently by perhaps offering rides from <br />Centerville Lake to Benson Airport. There are questions of liability and not wanting to incur <br />additional cost by renting a transportation vehicle. Chairperson Burke will contact Rehbine Transport <br />for options available and report at the next committee meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Mary Capra, a representative of the St. Genevieve's Activity Committee had previously said their <br />participation will depend on where the events are located on the lake, as in 2004 they sponsored <br />sliding, cookies and hot chocolate at the church rectory. If the events are all held at the Anoka County <br />Park, this may not work as it will be too &r away from the other events. The St. Genevieve's Activity <br />Committee is open to suggestions. The Economic Development Committee discussed other options <br />the St. Genevieve's Activity Committee and/or the Boy Scouts could participate in and will offer the <br />following suggestions to Ms. Capra; the snowshoe demonstrations I races were popular in 2004 and <br />could be something the group could volunteer to run.
