Funding
Funding for the improvements would come from the Sewer Utility Fund. There is
sufficient fund balance in the sewer fund for this work and pump replacement is
something which is budgeted for through asset depreciation.
Recommendation
City staff has reviewed the three proposals and is recommending acceptance of the quote
from General Repair Services. We feel that this particular proposal brings the best value
to the city. This conclusion was reached after consultation with lift station experts at
Stantec and conversations with neighboring public works departments who have recently
gone through similar change-outs.
The situation at Lift Station#2 requires prompt attention and we are, therefore, asking the
City Council to award a contract to General Repair Services in the amount of
$24,728.50 for the rehabilitation work on Lift Station#2.
Sincerely,
_00 C "kO .
Mark R.
