2. The City of Centerville has an organized (closed) hauling for all single-family homes; duplex, four- <br /> plex; and townhomes. <br /> 3. Quantity of garbage and refuse -Attached tonnage history,Appendix E. <br /> 4. Frequency of Collection: Garbage and Refuse accumulated at residential properties within the <br /> corporate boundaries of the City shall be collected at least once a week. Collections shall be done <br /> Mondays through Fridays in accordance with the current scheduled pick-up day for residents to avoid <br /> service disruption. Any proposed changes to the Collection Schedule must be submitted for approval <br /> to the Office of the City Administrator. Refuse to be collected under this contract proposal shall be <br /> regularly scheduled on the same weekday unless the regularly scheduled pickup day falls on a legally <br /> established holiday. The contractor shall adopt the current collection schedule in place in the City. <br /> 5. Hours of Regular Collection: Daily collection hours shall not begin prior to 7:00 a.m. and shall not <br /> continue past 5:00 p.m. unless prior permission has been granted by the City. <br /> 6. Holiday Schedule of Collection: In the event the regular collection day falls on a'legal holiday, the <br /> Contractor shall not be required to make regular collection provided that the routes are collected <br /> reasonably in advance thereof or thereafter. Legal holidays shall include the following: New Year's <br /> Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving ''Day, and Christmas Day. The <br /> week's schedule shall be completed regardless of the holiday which means collection is then deferred <br /> one day. The contractor will be allowed to collect routes on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. <br /> following holidays that occur Monday through Friday. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to <br /> notify residents of any changes in the Collection schedule as a result of a holiday. <br /> 7. Points of Collection: The Contractor shall provide per unit cost per month based on citywide <br /> curbside collection service. Curbside service shall require all receptacles and/or approved containers <br /> that contain Garbage and Refuse to be placed curbside (except for walk up customers)to the abutting <br /> City street for Collection. <br /> 8. Procedure in Collection and Handling Refuse: All Garbage and Refuse must be removed in such a <br /> manner that none of said refuse is spilled, dropped, strewn, or allowed to remain on, about or around <br /> the premises from which it is collected. No refuse from containers, trucks, or equipment shall be <br /> dropped, strewn, thrown, or in any manner deposited upon any of the streets or sidewalks within the <br /> City. Care shall be taken not to damage containers. <br /> 9. Disposal of Refuse: All Garbage and Refuse shall be transported to,weighed-in at, and disposed of at <br /> a solid waste facility that is designated by Anoka County. The disposition of such material shall be <br /> conducted and handled so as to at no time create a nuisance to become injurious to the public health <br /> of persons living either within or outside the corporate limits of the City. <br /> 10. The Contractor shall provide tonnage information on garbage and refuse collected on a monthly basis. <br /> 11. The Contractor shall provide Refuse containers and Refuse collection for all City celebrations at no <br /> additional charge. <br /> 12. The Contractor shall provide for the disposal of Christmas Trees during the first two full weeks of <br /> each year. <br /> 13. The contractor shall provide service and supply garbage containers to all City owned sites including <br /> but not limited to City Hall, Public Works Building, Fire Stations, and all City park properties, at no <br /> additional charge. <br /> Centerville -Garbage RFP -Page 16 <br /> 26 <br />
